Natural Stone Restoration now offers a complex water proofing and protective coating system for all concrete and masonry walls and floors. We are affiliated with Stratmore Ltd, who manufacture and import products, designed especially for sealing, crack repair and waterproofing of all concrete structures. Working closely with Stratmore Ltd; over the years, we have been involved in the concrete sealing on a number of large commercial, residential and government sites around the Wellington area. Our people have been fully trained in the use of these products and are able to examine and understand the requirements of  the customers needs.

Applications include, below and above ground water-tanks, basements, garages, internal wet areas and joint or crack repair in walls and floors. Also, waterproofing barriers for balconies, paving, decks and terraces to stop the ingress of water.

This high strength, fast setting waterproofing system is specially designed to immediately arrest the seepage or flow of water through concrete joints, leaking cracks and holes. This water proofing treatment for concrete structures can be used to protect against the ingress of water to the inner or outer sides of a concrete structure.

Auckland City Council accepts Krystol T/1/T2 Systems complies with the New Zealand Building Code in particular clauses B2, E2 and F2.

Krystol Plug™(Rapid-Setting Hydraulic Cement for Concrete Repair)

Krystol Plug is a fast setting powder that, when mixed to a stiff-dough consistency with water, may be used to immediately arrest the seepage or flow of water through concrete voids. Krystol Plug is used to stop flowing water, allowing waterproofing repair to be installed in leaking cracks, holes, joints or any place where water is penetrating a concrete structure.

 Krystol Bari-Cote™ (Water Barrier for Repair of Concrete or Brick)

Krystol Bari-Cote is a high-strength waterproof grout that is specially designed to repair leaking cracks, holes and joints. It is specially formulated with Kryton’s proven Krystol® technology which combines chemically with water and concrete to form millions of needle-shaped crystals. These crystals grow in all directions to fill any capillary pores of the grout and surrounding concrete to block the passage of water.

 Krystol T1® & T2® Waterproofing System

(Surface-Applied Cementitious Concrete Waterproofing)

Krystol T1 & T2 system is a surface-applied crystalline waterproofing treatment for concrete structures that is used to protect against the ingress of water. It is a dry powder, that when mixed with water becomes a coating that is applied to the inner or outer sides of a concrete structure.Krystol T1 and T2 contain Kryton’s unique and proven Krystol® technology which reacts with un-hydrated cement particles to grow millions of needle-like crystals deep into the concrete mass. Over a period of weeks and months, these crystals grow, filling the naturally occurring pores and voids in concrete, and permanently blocking the pathways for water and waterborne contaminants. Later, if cracks form due to settling or shrinkage, incoming water triggers the crystallization process and additional crystals begin to grow, filling cracks and ensuring that the structure’s waterproofing barrier is maintained and protected. The concrete itself becomes the waterproof layer and the surface treatment is not required to remain intact for the system to be effective.

A large crack had appeared in the side of this building after a large earthquake in Wellington. The crack was cut out and then filled using Krystol Bari-Coat, then Krystol T1 and T2.

These photos are of inside a large water tank, which had been coated in bitumen to stop leaking from the tank. The tank was filled with sea water which feed smaller tanks to keep shell fish and fish larvae alive. Over years the bitumen had begun to leach into the water and kill the sea life, so this was put out of commission.

Natural Stone Restoration were asked to clean it back and reseal the tank.

The only way we could take the bitumen off the walls and floors was to soda blast them, as we could not use chemicals to melt it. Once this was achieved, we then went in with hand grinders to remove build up in corners and on the floor. The tank also had cracks and holes, which needed repairing, using the Krystol Plug and Krystol Bari-Coat before we could coat the structure with Aquella Waterproof Coating. Once the Aquella was dry we then used a final coat of Epar 226 Epoxy Coating.

Now fully functional once again, this tank will stand the test of time.

AQUELLA Cementitious Waterproof Coating
A cementitious waterproof coating for internal and subgrade walls and floors.
For waterproofing concrete, brick and other mineral surfaces from either side.
One coat withstands 40 metres head of water from reverse face, 60 metres from front face.
AQUELLA is used for waterproofing walls and floors as found in basements, tunnels, lift wells etc.
AQUELLA is also used to seal floors without (or with damaged) damp courses prior to laying carpet or tiles.
AQUELLA can also be used internally or externally on tanks and water retaining structures.
AQUELLA can be used on most unpainted mineral surfaces such as concrete and brick.


AQUELLUX S Water Repellent For External Masonry Substrates

A silane/siloxane solvent-based water repellent for external use that does not alter the appearance of the surface (some slight surface colour change can occur depending on the porosity and type of substrate).
Used to make concrete, brick, stone, and other mineral surfaces water repellent whilst allowing trapped moisture to escape from the substrate.
Excellent penetration depth. Highly stable on concrete and other surfaces containing cement.
AQUELLUX S is used to treat vertical and inclined surfaces such as walls and roofs.
Use AQUELLUX S on concrete, cement plaster, block work, bricks, roofing tiles, cement asbestos and fibrous cement, GRC panels and natural stone (test substrate for suitability before use).
Porous concrete blocks may not be suitable for treatment.


DUSTGUARD Concrete Hardener And Anti-Dust Treatment

Waterbased concrete hardener and anti-dust treatment
Dustproofer and surface hardener for dusty and porous floors.
Used to harden and anti-dust concrete floors, beams and columns. Economical.
Does not create a film or coating. Water-based & solvent-free.
Suitable for use under vinyl, carpet, wood, etc.
Industrial, commercial and residential applications.
May be overcoated with HARDCOAT or SD SEALER.


SILAC Water Repellent For External Masonry Substrates

Acrylic modified solvent based water repellent
An acrylic modified solvent-based silane/siloxane water repellent for porous and absorbent surfaces, especially Oamaru stone.
SILAC is used to render vertical and inclined surfaces, such as walls and roofs, water repellent. It can be used on concrete, blockwork, bricks, roofing tiles, fibrous cement and natural stone.
Due to the acrylic content of SILAC, it is capable of sealing surfaces which are too porous for treatment with normal water repellents.
SILAC will lift the colour of exposed aggregate surfaces.
SILAC is very effective on Oamaru stone helping to maintain a clean and water repellent surface and preventing degradation.
